Re: Mixed questions

Hi John,

Lime could certainly have an effect on Siberians. I've gotten the best
growth (and show) when they're planted in average well-drained, slightly
acid soil. While new plantings need a bit more water till they put down new
roots, overwatering established plants has led to more problems than if
they'd been left alone.

One of the healthiest Siberian seedlings is a little volunteer growing in
unammended hardpacked soil... through landscape fabric covered with rock in
an area that gets watered only when it rains.

I remember your fascination with anything variegated. Once you've figured
out where to plant Siberians so they'll be happy, you'll have to check out
Marty & Jan's variegated Siberian SPORTING CHANCE. :-)
