Hello,
Just returned from the SIB/species convention (more later on
that ) to find another awful spammer got thru. The last time it
happened, I put everyone on Sibrob on moderation status meaning
all posts would be approved before sending to the list. After
about a week of this, I stopped that with folks known to me or
names I recognized from other plant lists. The remainder were
still moderated and continue to be.
However, for some reason, this spammer's name was NOT on
moderation status and there will be mistakes and I apologize.
Libby Cross' new 2002 registered Siberian is named NOBODY'S
PERFECT and it is unfortunately true.
New changes in Sibrob:
1) this is still a restricted list and I approve all new members
and will continue to do so
2) Nobody will be approved without a name and location and
'more' (I will handle this)
3) If worst comes to worst (!), I can move the entire list in
toto to another server but only as a last resort. Yahoogroups
has served us well and its reliability can't be beat
4. I intend to work with some folks at Yahoogroups about the
continuing and ever-growing scourge of spammers
5. Lastly, don't read more than a line of the spam and do _not_
ever reply to the come-on: "remove my line from your mailing
list".
