{Disarmed} Re: Hyb: Seedling

Dennis,

As budget allows, I'm still trying to find JIs that will cross to AR. Unfortunately, most purebreds don't live long enough to bloom here. From a genetic standpoint, the absolute best bet for pulling balanced types of Ensibs in a wider color range is an ugly little seedling from a cross of a JI and SIB type. The Siberian/Ensib crosses are not my first choice to cross with but it appears this mix just may stir the gene pool enough to provide some surprises.

These images may show Lexicon's features a bit better. She's lined out next to the Siberians this year and the difference is striking. I've shipped one start to Rita Gormley for trials and barring a gopher attack, I'm hoping to begin sending starts to some of the Convention gardens in a year or two so everyone can make their own assessment.
