{Disarmed} RE: Iris typhifolia

Looks great, I have seen a couple selections of typhs now and the very best is Caitlins Smile available through Joe Pye Weeds Garden.

We are much later in the season here. I have seen about 350 of about 900 two year seedlings bloom. Suprised so many have bloomed! 60 or so have already joined the trash heap. I will post pix in the near future. I have three clearly distinct groups of "little" siberians; 4-6", 8-12" and around 18" tall. In the normal size sibs I have at least 35 to 40 set for further evaluation. The most extra ordinary: A near plicata in a pinkish violet, the etched signal pattern flows around the falls but drops off at the tip, the flower has form problems. A large dark blue with brillant yellow signals over 1/2 the falls - very striking. A large flowered bicolor with yellow standards and pink falls with some yellow trim around the falls. A pink with large yellow rim.

With my three and four year seedlings I have made final selections for future introduction, four light blues with excellent flower form, great color and plant qualities, all rebloomers.
A couple bicolors of soft pink and blue, late bloomers, also rebloomers.

Been a great season so far!
