{Disarmed} Re: Iris typhifolia

Wow, I'm surprised you didn't get much bloom. We have just had Reg. 6 in Hollingworth country and his siberians were showing lots of bloom but the height varied a great deal. Some Michigan growers have had shorter blooming siberians and yes, we think it is the hot in Mar. then cold/ snow in April and 1" short of rain in some areas of MI. in May and into June, though 80 miles away Lansing is very wet.. Even in some clumps, most of clump is shorter but will have a few stalks at  tall height. I even checked at Old Douglas where it has had no care in 10 years and volunteer seedlings from pods are blooming regular height in quack grass meadow. Sure would be difficult for hybridizers to know what the potential of 1-2 yr. plants are like. anna mae miller
