Esther C.D.M. ???? and a few other questions

From: jimsullivansgarden@home.com

Hello robin members,
I have a question regarding Esther C.D.M. and Gull's Wing. A gardening
friend has told me that these two siberians are one and the same.
Apparently, she read this somewhere and was even able to give me details
of the article, but could not remember where she read it. However, when
I looked them up in the checklist they are supposedly different heights
and differnt bloom times as well?? I thought that I would get this
cleared up before I ordered Esther C.D.M. since Anna Mae said that this
was one of her favorite sibs. Any comments from members would be
appreciated.
Another question. I know this is really not the right place to ask this
question, but do any of you grow the intermediate bearded iris AZAP. It
is a very nice iris, but several of us here in Saskatoon have been
trying to grow it and it seems that no matter where we get this
iris(ordered from several different nurseries) it is never a clear blue,
but seems to have a virus or some affliction which results in spotted
flowers which I believe indicates a virus?? enviromental??? We believe
it has passed this spotted flower affliction on to nearby irises as
well. Such a very nice iris too. Any comments would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks, Jim in Saskatoon, Sask. Canada ~zone 3
