Yes, this season was a strange one. When Purple Sand and Lavender Stipples
were 1st shown in 1989 at the JI show in DC I cut them in bud and carried
them in a tube for the show-I flew on June 15. I took them + Liberty Hills,
Fattaneh but on 14th I noted that 1st blooms Lady of Quality, Violet Joy, not
yet, also Young Lady not yet. There were a lot of siberians in bloom but
some had finished by then. I kept a bloom chart for several years and the
midseason flowers usually bloom the longeset # of days. I find the earlier
blooming varieties just bloom a few days compared to the later ones, I don't
