I ordered Japanese irises last fall. The local post office here
"misplaced" the order for a month. When I finally got the package, the
plants looked pitiful, though they were in a gel-pack. I was sure they
were all dead, but I soaked them in water for 2 days and planted them
anyway. All of them have broken dormancy! I never would have believed
that they would live through that.
