Re: Siberian Popularity Poll

Rita and all,

For those who are new to the SSI or the pop. poll, we have had at various times in the past five years:

1) colored separare sheet (orange!) sent with the TSI to mail back and ALSO always had e-mail voting
2) had a pull-out post card ballot to send in PLUS e-mail voting
3) ballot in TSI AND e-mail voting

We propose in 2006 to have a separate sheet send with TSI PLUS e-mail voting BUT the ballot will change from having blank numbered slots like:

1. ___________________

to

Strawberry Fair (as an example)

and space for write-ins

PLUS e-mail voting.

This is all dependent on the vote of the Board of the Society for Siberian Irises...I am just the messenger. There will be  a lot of discussion as to how the pre-printed ballot will work and how to sent it up,etc. It looks like
there MIGHT not be a pop. poll in 2006.

Re the Pop. poll, my previous e-mail was not clear about what I meant as a printed ballot. Barbara Schmeider and I use 'short-hand' when talking about this subject and I carried it over to my e-mail. Sorry.

I meant a pre-printed ballot listing Siberian cultivars to choose from as well as space for write-in votes.

Thanks,

Ellen
Ellen, as much as I love e-mail to send these in, I truly think that having a "colored printed ballot" to hang on the fridge to take with me to gardens really reminds me to DO it.

Don't remember what the percentage for SJI was last year, but MIS was about 25% and we do separate inserts in color AND put the Symposium ballot on the website.
