Hi all!
First Siberian open in my yard in Denver today, LINDA MARY. The Sibs seem to
be running 7 to 10 days early this year. Had very warm temperatures in April
and early May which pushed all the plants forward. A hard freeze on 5/13 did
in most of my bearded iris blooms, but so far the Siberians seem to have
escaped the freeze relatively unscathed (although a few stalks of LINDA MARY
were obviously badly damaged).
The early warm weather has meant the Siberians are growing short again this
year. For those of you who were in my yard at Denver's convention in 1998,
you might remember the Siberians were growing short, although they were
blooming well.
I am new to this list. I'm Lynda Love and my garden was one of the gardens on
tour during the AIS 1998 convention in Denver. I will be at the Iowa
convention and I hope to meet many of you there.
I hope the list volume is low right now because everyone is out gardening! <g>
