Siberians in Iowa

Don Lovell here in beautiful Iowa.
My seedlings have been really exciting. So exciting I find myself up and
outside at daybreak just to see what's new today. Most of the time they
aren't open yet, so I have to peel back alittle corner to get a glimps, then
when I get home in the afternoon thay are all open. This is the first time
that I can say I can see in the rows alittle bit of each parent, which means
I have successfully done my hybridizing right. These seedlings are from 1998.
Some are very big clumps and some are pretty small yet, but all are blooming.
I have everything from white to sky blue to soft pink to dark velvet deep
purple. All of these are out of the same cross. This row is an APPALOOSA BLUE
cross with my Butterfly seedling. A row that involves STEVE VARNER x
APPALOOSA BLUE is also very unusal in that it has such a range in color
patterns and dappling.
I do have new favorite.."DANCE BALLERINA DANCE" bloomed yesterday...WHOW.
I did like that one... No other Tets to cross it with, darn, maybe latter in
the week. Have nice day.....Don
