This seems to be a boom or bust year for my siberians. Either they are
absolutely spectacular or there are no blooms at all. I'm wondering if
the drought we experienced last year could have an effect, some plants
being in moister soil, others being along an underground tree route.
Age, crowding, attention; none of these factors seems to have made a
difference. I'm tempted to water the "bllind" ones with "Super Thrive"
and speak nicely to them and see what happens next year.
As for "unusual years", didn't the AIS bulletin have a quote some years
ago that1928 was a normal year for irises and that there hasn't been one
since......?
