pots in water

I have some left over potted Siberians. Some don't look all that good. I have nursed some LAs to healthy plants by putting the pot in a pan of standing water. I am going to try the same technique with the sickly Siberians. I will not put as much water in the Siberian pan as I did with the LAs. So far the only problem with the pot in pan of water technique was the mouse that drowned in the water. Any reactions to the concept?
