This is not a solution for many of us who wish to view and answer
the posts and share in the discussion. The general iris-talk list
has a NO photos policy as well. There is a reason for that policy.

Chris Hollingshead and others suggested that our photos would
be conveniently viewed on the iris-photo list and I now concur.
There was not a vote taken and if there were, it would be
meaningless if 10 or more folks were having great difficulty
in viewing the pix. This is supposed to be fun and relatively
easy for us all. That includes the managers of this list.
I receive complaints every time an image or attachment jams
somebody's computer. (Sometimes complaints are received
without computer difficulties. ;)

If we also want to expose folks to one of our favorite irises,
the iris-photo list is one place to do it. It matters not a
whit that the 'mug-shot' of a typical TB is the norm there.
I dislike them as well. They serve a purpose if one is trying
to expose the public to a new iris and also are useful in
trying to i.d. an iris (Mike Lowe would know that much better
than I). I think garden shots of Siberians would be welcome
on the iris-photo list. Diversification is always interesting
and welcome in most groups.

The shared area is still an option. Anyone having difficulty in
downloading attachments, I recommend one of the web-based free email
vehicles. That way your primary email vehicle(s) are not tied up
or freezing your computer or worse.
