Re: b & s

Having never had B & S amount to a hill of beans, my standards for
judgeing yellow are pretty low, but my favorites are: Welfenchatz (for an
older variety) Summer Revels (my favorite new one with a modern look) Tom
Schafer ( for a more simple look), Isabelle ( very soft yellow, very late,
which is nice) Hello Yellow (Which I have had only for about 2 years,
but the color is very strong) Chartreuse Bounty ( I don't grow it, but It
struck me because it is so different) Moonsilk ( nice soft yellow, it has
it good years and bad years, but when its nice, its nice) Pas de Deux (
unfortunately, I liked it but the mice liked it more, so I need to get it
back)

Looking at the Yellows that Marty Schafer is getting now
has kind of put me off of any of the older ones. He has so many form
and color variations, but more importantly, branching, which is perhaps
the major limiting factor in bloom period with yellows so far.
