Hi Marty, this is not Bill but I would buy it depending on its description..
which is how most of us order new intros. - based on written words and a photo
does help, of course. :)
One of my fav. medians is JUNGLE SHADOWS and I can't even describe its
coloration. Registered as a BB in '59 as a blended brown-gray and purple with
a brown beard. It never looks that way to me. My husband dislikes it
intensely but his fav. bearded irises are black and I do have some black
bearded but I have shied away from most. I adore SALAMANDER CROSSING and
SHAKER'S PRAYER and he doesn't (they are in our garden since I purchase the
irises and only buy what I like :).

That is an interesting point...I think black looks pretty blah in the border
but looks smashing as a cut flower. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder
especially in our gardens.

No wonder with all the crosses you make and the seedlings Joe Pye Weed gives
us each year!
