I frequently write stream-of-consciousness style and that's what I did in my
summary of Siberian acceptance relative to landscapers. There is a backdoor
way to get irises into residential gardens and that is via landscapers. In
the California central valley, Pacific Coast Iris are used by landscapers. I
was talking to the buyer of a landscaper owned nursery. He said he would buy
any Pacific Coast Iris I could supply. I told him 90% would die. His comment
was "And your point is?" I think Siberians would be much better than PCIs as
they are great landscape plants and the right ones have a much higher
success rate than PCIs. However for Siberians to be used by landscapers,
there has to be a supply when the landscaper is planting not just during the
Siberian shipping season.
Hope that is an adequate explanation.
