Thank you Chuck and Ken. I suppose I can
not take them out of the pots without disturbing the roots. So I will
follow your advice and leave them in the pots and sink the pots in the ground.
Am very curious what will come out of the diploid
seedlings. The pod parent is a sibirica from the botanical garden in
Tuebingen (Southwest Germany) with the label iris sibirica L (I do not know
if it is correctly identified and what L means - Linnaeus?). As the pollen
parent I chose my favourite sibirica Here be dragons. I know it is a weird cross
and I am pretty sure that the seedlings will resemble the pod parent but who
cares?
