Anja,
My experience, in USDA zone 5 (central NY state), is that you would
be better off holding them in the pots they are in now through the
winter, and transplanting them in the spring. There is a high risk of
frost heaving if you transplant now. Sink the pots in the ground to
help protect them and they should be fine. Keep an eye on them in case
they get dried out, though. Meanwhile you can work in any soil
amendments you want to add to the area you'll be transplanting into, and
be ready to go in spring.
