planting just finished

From: "Harold Peters" <harold@directcon.net>

I just finished planting my Siberian bed (130 feet long planted on 2'
spacings). The Region 14 RVP gave me a division of her Strawberry Fair. I
had a couple of duplicates of some of the ones I received in August that are
showing no signs of life. Just in case it was still alive, I doubled them up
in the same space to make room for Strawberry Fair. One of the pots (Mabel
Coday) that I had not planted because it was showing no green when I planted
the others had developed two slender green leaves so I used the same
doubling up process to make a space for it. I am afraid there will be a
couple of holes in the bed next spring from some of the mid August receipts.
Maybe that will be good as it will give me an excuse to buy some more
Siberians next year. I also have some duplicates that are doing well. These
will allow me to make a couple of limited sales next year.

We had our first rain of the 1999-2000 rain year last night. Had almost an
inch of water in the bottom of one of the buckets that was out in the open.
First rain of meaning since May. This is just information for Dennis who
complains when he doesn't get a rain for a couple of weeks.
