A daylily buddy sent the hoax material and said it was OK to pass it on.

Take care,

Fleming:

The story that has been going around the Internet about Sir Alexander
Fleming appears to have little basis in fact. There is a short biography of
him at <http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/aso/databank/entries/bmflem.html>.

There are lots of stories, hoaxes, virus threats, etc. that circulate on the
'Net. Many of them are just not true so folks should make an effort to
verify the basic facts before sending them on. Three good places to check
are:

The AFU & Urban Legends Archive: <http://www.urbanlegends.com/>
Urban Legends: Don't Believe Everything You Read:
   <http://www.scambusters.org/legends.html>
Computer Virus Myths home page: <http://www.kumite.com/myths/home.htm>

I did a search for the Fleming story on the Urban Legends site and came up
with several posts saying that it was a bogus story.

Be particularly wary of any message urging you to "forward to all you know"
or words to that effect. This is a red flag of a hoax. If something is
either too good to be true or too horrible to be true, it is probably not.
