Re: Moving clumps in the fall?


I'm also in zone 4, and I would rather move Siberians in the fall, right about now, than in the spring.  They do equally well either time, but it is so much easier not to have to deal with all the foliage, hence I like spring better.  I have planted as late as the middle of October, when some came to me that--free so I certainly was in no position to complain--and every single one survived.  I mulched them well when it got to the point of freezing the ground, however.
