Overwintering potted irises

From: "Carol Warner" <draycott@qis.net>

Judy,

I was thinking some more about your question of overwintering and thought I
would mention that Shirley Pope (in Maine) has found that the only way to
make fall shipments of irises overwinter in her area is to pot the plants
and keep them in her garage. Shirley's garage is attached to the house but
unheated. She does this with all beardless irises.

Shirley does not use a computer but I'm sure she would be willing to write
up a little information on her methods for TSI. Drop her a note.
