weather and SA expression3

Praetorian Guard is known for its long horn but under these weather
conditions the one with the spoon I considered normal and the other the
anomaly.

My thoughts here were that there are beard extensions and that there is
the possibilities of other extensions beneath them. Here they seem to be
layered but normally they would be chorded or twisted giving the effect
of a hairy long spike. Would this twisting inhibit flounce or spoon
developement?
