Hi Neil,

I never really warmed to the terms shelf or ledge.  BEARD SPINE and
BEARD SPINE EXTENSION sound most descriptive and more scientific.  Just
to make things clear in my mind, a beard spine extension would be
equivelent to a protohorn, right ? 

I like these terms.
