Re: [SpaceAgeRobin] New Space Agers in Ca.

Hey all,
I'm trying to ID this Bloom, but have had no luck sofar. It does give me some really huge intense crosses. As you can see the size from the ruler i held next to it. Now i'm hoping for a really giant SA from one of the crosses i did a few years ago, and i had some more from last year as well. I've been having a problem with my Photoshop app and have had to re-install it again. I'm going to get a new copy of the latest CS version for an upgrade. Should work better.
Also , i have had some success with non SA producing some SA, which means i might have hit what Austin found. I'm going to have to go back into all my archival records from the past 10-12 years to see if i can trace what's going on. Wasn't paying enuf attention to what's happening in my seedling. Now maybe i should. I did notice some strange SA from non-SA crosses, but they kinda went under my radar on that trait. Have to read up a little more on what i'm doing. I've always liked the mad scientist effect in my gardening thinking.........LOL
Might be from viewing my garden in the am, coffee and tweezers in hand and wearing my best Japanese robes. Open wide and say AAAHHHHHHHH little bloom, i need your pollen!!!!
Tomorrow i get a new laptop so i can load my photo files up and go out in the yaerd and continue my ID work and load shots of new ones on the fly. Gotta work fast i think as it will be warming up and there are just way too many buds and so little time to catalog them.   I'm thinking of setting up a wi-fi system of cameras all over the Plantation and then i can just log on, zoom in, take a pic, and never leave my office. Maybe not!!!!!!!!
Oh, and yes i have been getting some great retro classic colors. It's very nice to have such a good crop to draw on for new strains. Must be that mad scientist in me trying to get out again. Oh well........Sure glad i'm retired and can devote so much time to all this. Kinda takes me away from my journalistic projects.
Uh, no i'm not related to the gal that runs Blue Haven. My Grandmother bought all she could plant back when Austin's went under. She gave alot of them to our friends and relatives over the years and we lost track of a few. When she past away my Mom took over and i grabbed as many as i could to take to Tahoe. When she couldn't take care of them of the Plantation i came down here to help out and get back into the yard again. It was a huge project as the yrad was very overgrown and my mom had slod off a great many of the old ones. Luckily i had most of them up at the lake and brought them down here again. I did notice when i added mine to the HIPS database that i have several that no one else has anymore, or at least any AIS/HIPS members have. I also think i've created a home for Iris that people don't want anymore, so i plant them in a seperate area until i see what they bloom as, then i can either save them , give them away or let them go wild out by the creek like my Grandmother did with her clumps that she split up.
I have to quit now as my fingers are really hurting. I have found that i have very bad arthritis in my hands plus CarpelTunnel too, very painful.........Can't spend as much time in the garden as i used to.
Anyway, i'll be posting a ton of shots from the yard as i get them converted to scale for you all...
             Ciao ya'll,

Which old Mohr?  Do you know the name?

Mike,

Yeah, good question that I forgot to ask.  Did any of these crosses have horns and what did you cross it with ?  My first thought was that you were talking about Giant Mohr.

Are you related to the lady who runs Blue Haven Iris gardens ?  I heard that she inhereted much of the Austin stock after he died.
