Nope.  Only the appendages are gone.  I haven't noticed any of the others in 
the past leaving that little mark, though.  Maybe they did and I just didn't 
notice it.  I guess it wouldn't show if it is only a beard extension and 
would only show when the appendages are also attached to the falls.  Those 
on my Tbird seedling begin at the beard, but are firmly attached to the top 
of the falls for about 1/2 inch.
