[SpaceAgeRobin] HYB:This year's crosses

I didn't think a single one of my SAGE project crosses had taken, but
gathering the pods I did find one.  Swingtown (BSE) X Flute Enchanté (simple
horned) had a modest pod, not a lot of seeds but enough to get some notion,
even if not a very good count of ratios.

Over all, the rate of "takes" compared to "makes" was abyssmal as has been
true for the last three years.  The weather during bloom ruined almost all
pollens almost every day.  I don't have room to plant what I do have, so I
should be grateful.

This summer I have had a disasterous infestation of borer.  The Merit I
applied was apparently at too light a rate, but did do some good as control.
I haven't had a single aphid since I put it on, either, which is quite
unusual for here.
