 a statistically significant number of seedlings necessary to say an 
iris would not produce SA would be a large number.  Monty Byers used the 
same iris combinations in many introductions  that are both SA and 
Non-SA from the same parents. It would restrict our list to older iris 
but we could restrict our project choices to non-SA's with known SA progeny'

Still much cheaper than the expensive day lilies but Tom says the price 
is ridiculous but is trying to discourage all but the most serious 
hybridizers because of its poor vigor.
