Phoenix, Arizona, should be the acid test for hot weather stability.  Here are a few of my observations from Z 9.

In Zone 9 -10 We have You in a drier area, ourselves in the middle at about 40% humidity, and John Reed and Randy Squires near the southern Ca. coast

Mesmerizer,  consistent flounces on all flowers

                        Strong tendency to bloom-out.

Also needs a little extra calcium for weak stalks. Has anyone seen horns on this one?

            Margaret Inez,  consistent flounces

                        Fairly good grower

                        Very fertile both ways

Hook’em Horns,  horns only on the first blossoms on a stalk

                        Excellent grower

Since this would be inconsistent with other data maybe its dry climate related.

Coral Point,  small inconspicuous horns

I’m not sure how consistent.  It has trouble surviving here.

Such behavior doesn't seem to be uncommon

April Jewel,  small inconspicuous horns

Again I’m not sure how consistent.

It’s a fair grower, but I haven’t been able to get seeds from it either way.

From your photo I would say that should be wide small horns. Larry has used SA's to get certain color combinations so there are some with latent SA genes. His blue bearded yellows are all strong candidates. IRISH GOLD has a small horn in Z8-9. BSE and sometimes a small horn in Z7

Twice Thrilling,  consistent purple horns on pink falls

            Poor grower here

I have one seedling from Margaret Inez with spectacular horns consistent on every blossom.  Unfortunately the week plant may not even survive.  This spring I should have a number of seedlings from Margaret Inez, Coral Point and Twice Thrilling start to bloom.  I will post the results as they do.

I am glad we live in a digital world. Photos of seedlings will be such fun this spring!
