-----Original
Message----- Experience from all zones
is important. I started with the colder climes because we are at the other end
of the scale. Iris performing the same here and there should be the most stable.
Now we can begin to fill in the middle. I am hoping the end result will be a
list of the iris we grow with notes similar to the following: Mesmerizer, consistent
flounces on all flowers Strong tendency to bloom-out. Margaret
Inez, consistent
flounces Fairly
good grower Very
fertile both ways Hook’em
Horns, horns
only on the first blossoms on a stalk Excellent
grower
I’m
not sure how consistent. It has trouble
surviving here. April
Jewel, small
inconspicuous horns Again
I’m not sure how consistent. It’s
a fair grower, but I haven’t been able to get seeds from it either way. Twice
Thrilling, consistent
purple horns on pink falls Poor
grower here I
have one seedling from Margaret Inez with spectacular horns consistent on every
blossom. Unfortunately the week
plant may not even survive. This
spring I should have a number of seedlings from Margaret Inez, Coral Point and
Twice Thrilling start to bloom. I
will post the results as they do. Francelle
