I think I forgot to mention that I was very impressed when I first saw
Rock Star in bloom. I had it in a sandy area of the garden for five
years and it never bloomed so I broke up the clump and planted it in
heavy soil where it manages to bloom every year now. I made crosses
with it last year that are still in the fridge, I'm going to plant them
out when I'm on vacation. RS also has some value because it's shorter,
almost all of my tall TB's blew over this year so I'd prefer seedlings
in the 30" range for here so I'll have to see. I have Momentous
Occasion, which is from RS and it doesn't grow much better.
Only time will tell.
