I do not grow many broken color irises. As a general statement, based on the ones that I do grow, BCs are more inconsistent in plant habit than the general TB population here.

I find your BC appealing. I see no problem with intro of such inconsistents so long as the buyer is informed of the variability in its nature. Uniqueness counts in both bloom and habit!

Inconsistant?  Aaaggh? A plant that ALWAYS produces single or ALWAYS produces double buds but not SOME of one and SOME of the other would be consistent, strange, and unique.
