Re: Re: SA cross

Hi Chris,

I've noticed in the Iris Register that people have used Mesmerizer a lot as both pod and pollen parent.  This year I had a bumper crop of Mesmerizer blooms so I decided to go for an Acoma cross (with Acoma as the pollen parent) since it had a bumper crop too. Not sure how many took just yet tho, since Mes. has just opened its last bloom. I think it bloomed 5 weeks this year!  Making up for the ice storm no-shows last year no doubt. Everyone seems to have had a great bloom season this time around.

What have you been using Mesmerizer with?  Just curious. What do you think I would get with Acoma? Hopefully some pretty rebloomers with appendages!

So far I have that purple one with orange beards and purple horns that I posted recently. Trying to think what beepod it might have come from, tho.  Been awhile.

Have hardly any bloom in the main iris bed this year, tho. Right now that old blue historic Sierra Blue is blooming there, tho. I still love it.

Cheers, Barb in SWMO

Christian,

I don't grow FIMBRIATED SPACE but I may consider ordering it this year
if I decide to import more Irises. Bringing in new cultivars can be
risky though, that's why I'm trying to work with whatever survives and
produces appendages best for me here. MESMERIZER seems to be the
leading candidate for me here. I got a great SA seedling using
STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN x Unknown SA(probably HONEY SCOOP) so I've got this
one lined out. It's got some interesting greeninsh standards.

It sure is interesting to watch seedlings blooms.

Chris
