Hardly an appropriate term for a vegetable, not a fruit, as you eat the
stem rather than the seedcase. In practice go for the younger shoots and
anything old and tough is left th feed the plant then die down
naturally.Harvest by pulling the stems out from the base , usually
sideways, trying not to damage the bud.Don't pull any after July. In the
spring, mulch and feed, it appreciates nitrogen.
