Because I dont have a shredder my compost can have larger twigs and hunks in
it, and I dont want to take the time to sift it. If I come across a twig
when digging or planting, I just pull it out and throw it to the side. It
hasnt been that big a deal.

I did locate just today a source of some great looking mulch. This past year
my community has started a curbside pick up of green 'garbage', branches,
lawn clippings ,etc. They take them over to the landfill transfer area and
grind them all up and take them off to another place for composting. For
local people, they dump some of this in an area to be picked up and hauled
away. It has not been composted yet, and will make great mulch. It is
smaller than wood chips. I am so excited to have found this, and only a mile
from my home. Too bad the composting place is so far away.

Janet.
