Re: Grape vines

Sue,
I'm not sure if you are in trouble or not. We keep our grape stock cool (around 40) until we can plant it and then the vines are only in water a few hours at the most. I just worry about yours being in water too long and "drowning the roots." Perhaps someone else has more experience.

SO I took them out of the bag and but them in a bucket of water. Was this the right thing to do. They also sat in the bag for a few days before I could get to them since I was out of town when they arrived. My husband just sat the bag in the corner of the kitchen and waited for me to get back. I know grape vines look like sticks at this stage anyway. Any advise on how to proceed. I am going to try to get them in the ground this weekend. I had a climbing rose bush in with them and it looks worse now that I have moved it from the bucket to the ground. This may have been bad timing for my order, but everything is guaranteed. I was disappointed in only one thing. One of the specials was for poppies and they substituted columbine for them. I really didn't want columbine, but they were pretty cheap to begin with.
