Tom,
I start my tomatoes from seed, in individual cells (4"). I usually plant
2-3 seeds per cell to ensure at least one plant. If multiple plants grow
in one cell, I just snip (with scissors) the extras plants at their base
when there is one true set of leaves. This has worked for me.
