     I guess it turns out that running the wires in parallel is a good
thing
rather than cheating.  It makes sense now.  If I consider each 10 foot
section
of wire as a unit of resistance, then each unit is connected in series. 
Not a good
 thing.  I guess that is why the "charger" is rated in "miles of fence".
     Thanks a lot.  Life just got a little bit easier.
