on viruses, lists & 'netiquette

THANK YOU! It is exTREMely tiresome to scroll through acres of html when
reading email!

And one more thing: 
I joined this list last year after an absence from any email discussion list
since late 1997. Why is it that when writing to a list these days people
feel the need to quote back the entire message to which they are replying?
Is it just plain laziness, or do people really not know how to edit? Posts
are much more readable and enjoyable when they are succinct and to the
point. I implore you all to cut to the chase when replying to posts to the
list. Quote back the pertinent lines, certainly, but leave off all the rest....
