I grow aubergines (technical name for eggplants) in a polytunnel. I find
the big purple ones do OK but I tried the smaller white ones
alongside and they just gave up. I do know that the whole family want
heat, humidity (misting, not over-watering)and a long growing season,
some more than others. I am guessing that you are growing them outside
which we can't do in UK so check your climate, whether it is suitable
for the sort you are growing. Also read the small print in the seed
catalogues and pick what is the best for your area.
If you give out your location and climatic zone it would help others to
advise you.
