Transparent Apples

I have never heard of "transparent" apples. Could you describe the tree
(standard or dwarf - do you think it is grafted?) and the apples?

My understanding is that all apple trees produce heavily every other
year. To get them to produce more evenly, the fruit should be thinned
while it is small during the "heavy" years, then more effort will be
there for the "light" years..

I hope y'all don't mind me posting this back to the veggie list - I
would guess that most people that grow veggies have some fruit in their
gardens too!
