Hi Pat,
I'm in Missouri USDA Zone 6.  I planted my kohlrabi last fall
sometime in August.  It grew so slowly while the weather was
warm, but then took off by leaps and bounds when the temperatures
got down into the 40's and 50's.  It produced right up until we
had a hard freeze.  Good luck with yours.
