OK, here's the recipe:
Slice a couple of onions and then add enough washed green cherry tomatoes
(which have been punched through with a fork) to make 8 pints. To an enamel
pot (at least 8 pints) add the following:
2-1/2 ;cups vinegar
2-1/2 cups water
1-1/4 cups sugar
1 tbsp cooking oil
2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tbsp prepared mustard
2 tsp salt
2 tsp pickling spices
2-4 smashed cloves garlic
Bring this liquid plus the sliced onions to a boil; add the tomatoes and
just return to a boil then shut off the heat and move off the heating
element. Place something on top of the tomatoes to keep them under the
liquid and then let cool in place for a few hours with a cover over the
pot. Place in a plastic covered container with the weights in place to keep
the tomatoes under the liquid for at least a week before tasting. If you
taste them before the week, they will taste terrible and you will throw
them out before they have developed their flavor. Store in the refrigerator
and eat some when the mood strikes you.
Enjoy.....Elliott
