Re: Propagation Heat Mats

Eliza,

Thanks for responding, and thanks to the others with suggestions as well. My
basement stays around 65 degrees F, and although many seeds germinate well I
would like to help them do better, especially since I want to start doing more
with perennials. So I went ahead and bought the roof de-icing cable and will
place it under the soil trays. I use APS systems from Gardeners Supply so I
will have to put it under the soil tray, yet on top of the water mats. I have
thought it through from many angles - since the cables are supposed to weather
well the water should not be a problem. I am just concerned about the
styrofoam so I am still working on how to accomodate that, or if I should even
be concerned.
