Dear Stan the cheap and lazy gardener: here is some info that I'm sure a
cheap and lazy person will be happy to know : it's the ammonia in the repel
that repels them. For a REALLY cheap way to repel deer (and many other
plant-munchers, BTW) just buy a giant size botlle of cheapest household
ammonia, not the sudsy kind I wouldn't think, but maybe it doesn't matter,
and dilute into a spray bottle with water. Spritz on the leaves and there
you go. You might want to experiment with different combinations of
concentrations, and try on a leaf or two first to be sure it doesn't damage
the plant. You could add something stinky like garlic or tea-tree or
citronella oil, too, to repel also aphids and moths, if you want a real
all-around every pest repellent.
