Re: pest control


The number in the description of a rifle (which is a gun with "rifling" or
curved grooves in the barrel to spin the bullet, making it more accurate)
designates the size of the bore.  A .3006, or "30 ought  6" if you want to
fit in with the crowd that will have them, shoots a bullet that is close to
a third of an inch in diameter.  Not something you'd go squirrel hunting
with--for that you use a .22.  Shotguns have an entirely different
classification scheme, with a 20 gauge being the squirrel gun and a 10 gauge
used mostly to break your arm when you try to shoot the thing.  This is
probably off-topic, but what the heck, I'm a red-neck so I don't know any
better anyway :)
