THis is not a perennial, but have you ever tried growing the giant pumpkins. My husband got the seeds one year but we didn't get them planted in time for a long growing season. I did the sunflower thing two years ago. THey were huge. Looks like a small forest. Mu garden is near a well traveled road, so they were quite a conversation piece. I also put in a bed of strawberries last year. I planted both June and ever-bearing varities. I am anxuious to see how my crop is this year. I put in 50 plants so I should have plenty. I love strawberrie and plan to make lots of jam. I need advice on pinchin off runners. I hate to kill anything so I did not pinch any off last year. Consequently I have tripled the number of plants I think. I this a good thing or should I start pinching back in the spring?
