I may be thinking of other words, but I think that what they mean b term
#1 is that the top end of the ear of corn doesn't develop all the way, and
instead of kernels, when you open it up, the silk is there, with
undeveloped kernels...As far as the second term, I think that glumes are
part of the structure of the flower mechanism of grasses, which I THINK
corn is one. More than that, I wouldn't venture to say, (for fear of
