Begging your pardon, but whitefly, and for that matter, red spider, are
encouraged by dry conditions. We had problems with both in our
polytunnel so installed an automatic misting system and solved both
problems. Unfortunately by then we had trouble with the pests spreading
cucumber mosaic virus and had to clear most of the cucumber but those
which were least affected went on to give quite a useful crop to the end
of the season.
We also had peppers in another polytunnel which had a problem with
curled leaves, reason unknown, but a drench of seaweed feed and
installation of a misting system revived the plants which cropped
heavily but late.
